The Reverend Richard is my great great grandfather through his son William Nevins Armstrong, his son Morgan Kalani Armstrong and my mother Rozanne Armstrong McPherson. I've been fortunate to visit Hawaii twice, once in the 1960s when my father was posted to Okinawa and we visited his great friend Bud Lampard from the University of Chicago was teaching at the University of Hawaii and again in 2010 when my husband and I visited Maui. I was able to visit the Reverend's house and the church nearby. Thank you for this account of him, I know most of it from family history but it is always good to see it written out accurately in other sources. I've been gathering some information recently, and came across yours, for my niece who is visiting Hawaii soon for the first time. What times they lived in and what lives they led!
